How Many Mocks Should You Take Before CAT?
By Prachi Priya Jha 11 June 2026

How many mocks is enough?
A useful range is 20-30 full mocks across your prep - quality over quantity.
Why mocks matter
They build stamina (two hours of focus), section strategy (what to attempt, what to skip), and temperament (handling a bad section without spiralling).
A sensible cadence
- Early prep: one mock every 2 weeks
- Mid prep: one a week
- Final 6-8 weeks: 1-2 a week, tapering in the last ten days
Bottom line: 20-30 well-analysed mocks beat 60 rushed ones. The review is where the marks are.
